Synopsis ~

Introduction.

Enrico was a thirteenth century Mediterranean seafarer. Many gypsies know him as the Phantom of the Red Palace. The legend tells that he caused the bloody slaughter of all the male members of his own family.

Enrico was sentenced to a timeless existence for his contemptible and lily-livered attitude. Almost daily he relives the original bloody slaughter, and the romantic passion that led to the massacre, related by a guide to tourists visiting the Alhambra.

Enrico has a lively temperament and is liable to sudden changes of mood, moving for the most part unseen. Free of place, he is witness to the romances, trials and tribulations that entrap characters in the collection of stories where fantasy and reality meet on many events.

Touch of Royalty.

Court comedy.
A Princess was warned to belt-up after she was involved in a tragic road accident involving one of her Jaguars, and a farm pickup carrying a load of tomatoes. Is she to be implicated in another road accident two weeks later? The issue is perused in county court of Wagga Waggo 'down under', and witnessed by an unusual spectator. With apology to my Australian cobbers.

Disaster on number four.

Romantic tragedy.
Tribute to the 350 miners lost, following an underground explosion at the Hulton Colliery near Bolton Lancashire UK, on the 22nd December 1910, and the many coal miners who lose their lives down the mines in China, today. Lest we forget.

An island called May.

African/Creole deluge.
In the Indian Ocean, there are over a thousand tiny isles; one of them was the island of May until nature stepped in. The island boasted a defunct volcanic protrusion, known as the peek-a-boo by the island's African and Creole community. It had one navigable cove skirted by towering palms and silver-sands. Indeed it was peaceful island.
History is bent a little, to speed up the narrative, reminiscent of our lives today. Jose is seldom mentioned. Nevertheless, he remains the link character.

Bond Street Bowler.

Misfortune Drama.
Any hat whatever the status is the property of the owner. To no other is there a right unless it is traded-in or bequeathed, sold or given away it to another property owner. Nevertheless there are the exceptions. 'The Bond Street Bowler' is one exception that illustrates the journey of a Royal Bowler hat that takes off in a continental forest in 1907 and ends in the North of England UK just before the second world war, as far as the author knows.

The Visitors.

Comedy Drama.
The Fortress of Alhambra Granada, and the Red Palace generally referred to as the Generalife, is near the Spanish Sierra Nevada mountain range. The fortress is the residence of the legendary Enrico, a thirteenth century Mediterranean seafarer, according to the gypsies.

Will Of The Oak.

Literary Drama.

Many salt and pepper tales have been sprinkled around the bones of the third child of John and Mary Arden Shakespeare. This one, for a change is played out around the spirit of the third child of John and Mary, in a copse close to Stratford upon Avon. A friend said to me Shakespeare is all mumbo jumbo. So are neighbours if you don't get to know them. Enough said!

The Sand Viper

Desert Adventure
Close to fort Al Lhafraq in the Syrian desert there is a Dead City. It was a thriving Pharisees metropolis many centuries ago.
Sandy heaps of decayed rubble have replaced this once prosperous place. It is surrounded by a barrier of knife-edged granite rocks three-kilometres wide, a legacy from the ancient dwellers. Any attempt to enter the city by other than the secret route inevitably resulted in smashed wheels, broken axles and broken legs of both horse and rider. Death by the abundant sand vipers occupying the surrounding ground continues to be the reward for the foolhardy and the impulsive.

Ladies three.

Romantic Maritime Drama
Autumn 1949. Her Majesty's Trooper the Steam Ship Clan le Mont moored in the Canada dock in Liverpool England, preparing for her final voyage that would terminate in an Indian graveyard for ocean going liners. She was under the command of Lieut Com Richard Rogers Royal Navel Reserve (RNR).
